Atska Thread Creator 25 Posts. Hello guys, its just a random question that is in my mind. I disabled ad blocker for the streams to support the players and casters but im really interested in how much they actually earn and if its enough to live.

I mean The defense had around 30k viewers Final , how much money did they got from 1 ad? Sing says he makes more streaming than working at his family's restaurant.

Streaming has a lot of money if you have partnership but requires a long amount of time of regular streaming to make money, not hours a day. If there is more ads, there is more money. Think about it this way. Assuming 20k don't run adblock, he makes alot of money. Assuming he runs 5 ads an hour: Even after that, if he streams 10 hours a day: A ton for just playing video games. Also, there's more people running Adblock than 1 out of 3.

In your scenario I believe it's like without it. There's tons of people that live off of ad revenue from streaming.

Most of these people also use youtube videos for even more money. I don't know, but probably not that much. At least not enough to think about throwing your life over this So if you do 3 ads between each game with only 1k viewer without adblock, you win 9e.

If you're in some shitty country it's a lot of money and even in a good country it's amazing. But don't bother streaming if you're not famous already, it's completly useless but basically the worst your country the better it is to stream.

You guys are looking at one puzzle of the whole picture.

If you are a professional gamer streaming isn't your only source of income. Sure sponsors and tournament earnings are pretty low compared too streaming right now, that's because the game is in beta. Don't expect to make a living off a game that isn't even released yet. Once the game is actually in open beta sponsorship and tournament earnings will double or even triple over time. You can't just simply look at streaming as the total income a professional gamer makes.

They have several sources of income. One thing I hate about sponsorship and streaming earnings is that most high tier players are under contract to keep it a secret. I think that's a greedy move by the companies to prevent competition between each other. Without this rule professional gamers would get paid way higher than now and could even make e-Sport more stable and reliable.

Also compared to League of Legends Dota 2 is way ahead in terms of e-sport potential and prosperity compared to League of Legends beta phase. I don't even think League was even in e-sports when it was in beta. I see streaming as a long term investment since we are in beta. I think even 20k is being generous for Chaox. I try to remember to remove adblock but half the time i forget, which i reckon goes for most people. I'd say on average half the viewers watching any stream probably have adblock on.
